Foshan NATIONSTAR Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. is a national high-tech enterprise under Guangdong Rising Assets Management Co. Ltd. as well as a key high-tech enterprise of the National Torch Plan, engaging in the R&D, manufacturing and sales of LED and LED application products. The company was founded in 1969 and began to get involved in LED packaging in 1976 as one of the earliest companies producing LED in China and the first company with LED as its main business to be listed on the market. It is also the first company in China to realize the integration of the entire LED industry chain and one of the largest domestic LED manufacturing companies. In the second quarter of 2018, NATIONSTAR's packaging business ranked eighth in the world (IHS Markit).

The company insists on independent innovationas always and strives to master core technology, with post-doctoral research workstations, national and local joint engineering laboratories of semiconductor lighting materials and devices and other national scientific research platforms with  15 doctors, more than 150 masters and more than 700 undergraduates and above technicians. As of July 2018, 364 out of the 467 applied patents of the company has been authorized. The company has successively undertaken more than 20 national-level scientific research projects such as the National "863" Program and the National Torch Plan, and more than 80 provincial and ministerial-level projects, winning the title of national and provincial key products several times. In 2016, the company won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award by the State Council and in 2017, the first prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award by the People's Government of Guangdong Province.
